Beginner's guide
Getting in
- Guest: pick a name and a vocation and play right away, from level 1. Nothing is saved when you leave, and guests cannot trade or use the stalls.
- Account: your wallet address on the Robinhood Chain (the public one, starting with 0x) and a password. Drakhen never asks for your secret phrase or private key — never type them anywhere. One account holds up to 5 characters, and they share the account depot.
- Every new character starts with 50 health potions and 50 mana potions (the first 5 characters of each account), the vocation's basic gear, a pickaxe and an axe.
- The four vocations are Knight, Sorcerer, Ranger, Druid. See Vocations & skills for what each one does.
Controls
- WASD or the arrows to walk, the mouse to aim. Hold the left click or Space for your basic attack.
- 1–9, Q and R are your hotkeys. Drag spells from the left panel, or potions and food from the backpack, onto the bar. Right-click a slot to clear it. Change the keys in Settings (O).
- 5 and 6 drink your best health and mana potion.
- I backpack · K skill tree · M world map · L ranking · O settings · V picks up the loot around you · Enter chat.
- Right-click an NPC to talk, or another player for the party, trade and whisper menu.
- On a phone: drag the stick in the bottom-left corner to walk (the further you drag, the faster you go), tap a creature to target it, tap an NPC to talk. The big button on the right attacks; the spells sit in an arc around it.
The town
You start at the Temple; if you fall, you wake up there. North of it is the town:
- Brother Anselm (Temple) heals you and explains the world. Old Tom has tips.
- Martha (General Store) sells potions and food and buys creature products. Sell your loot there.
- Brutus (Blacksmith) sells common gear and buys any equipment. Thorgar, next to him, forges it.
- Octavian (Bank) keeps your gold. The Depot chests keep items for your whole account (100 slots).
- Hunt Master Rowan pays for hunts — see Hunting tasks.
- The Market Square has the player stalls — see Token & stalls.
Full list: NPCs.
Your first hunts
- Out of the Temple's south door are the Training Grounds, with weak creatures to try your attacks.
- The hole inside the Training Grounds leads to the Spider Cave. The surface has few creatures: the caves are where you level up, and creatures there drop +25% loot and +25% gold.
- The whole south is free. West and east open at level 15, the north at level 30, the Dragon Hills at 40. A magic barrier stops you before that. Every cave has the level of its entrance — see World & caves.
Hunting outside the dungeons gives +25% XP.
Loot, death and potions
- Loot stays in a bag on the creature for 2 minutes and only you can see it. Click the bag, or press V to pick up everything around you. You can turn on Auto-loot in Settings.
- Loot is always personal, even in a party.
- Dying outside a dungeon or boss lair costs 8% of the XP of your current level (you never lose a level), part of the gold you carry (10% near town, up to 20% in the hardest regions) and maybe some items from your backpack (a small chance near town, a much bigger one far away). What you drop stays in a bag where you fell: only you can open it for 5 minutes, then anyone can. Equipped, epic and legendary items and your bank are always safe. Dying inside a dungeon or a boss lair costs only XP (in a dungeon, not even the entry). Brother Anselm, at the temple, sells a blessing that protects your next death (it costs level × level × 30 gold).
- Eat something to recover faster for a while. Potions heal at once, but you can only drink one health potion every 1.5 seconds (mana potions have their own timer), and a health potion never heals more than a share of your maximum health (half for the small one, about a third for the others). Don't rely on potions alone: step out of the marked circles.
Getting stronger
- Every level gives 1 skill point (press K). Raise your spells, learn passives, and at rank 5 choose a variant. You have 49 points at level 50.
- New spells unlock at levels 10, 20, 30 and 40 (the Sorcerer and the Druid also get one at level 5).
- Buy gear from Brutus at first. Rare gear drops from creatures, epic gear from the dungeons, and legendary gear only from the bosses.
- Forge your gear with Thorgar using creature products, ore and wood you gather yourself.
Playing together
- Party: right-click a player → Invite (up to 4). XP is shared between members within 20 tiles, with +10% for each extra member, as long as the lowest level is at least 2/3 of the highest. Party members show in gold on the minimap, and the party enters dungeons together.
- Chat: Local (people on your screen), World and Trade (from level 5, one message every 10 seconds), Party, Private (
/w Name message,/rto reply) and the Server Log.
